Hodori (Korean Restaurant) – Tempe

Hodori has the best Korean food in the Valley and challenges some of the best (Woo Lae Oak) I have had, period. Located on Dobson (behind the Oregano’s) it is not for the Pei Wei crowd. This is real, no compromises, Korean food and it is good. Last night, we had the Bi Bim Bap, which came with the rice off to the side. I guess I was supposed to mix the rice in, but decided to leave it out and have it as a salad. Brilliant, on a hot summer evening. The rest of the meal was as stellar. Do not go here for the atmosphere or service. But if you understand and appreciate Korean food, this place is for you.

Number 16 – Tempe Town Lake

Holy moly, what a show. I am guessing that the best fireworks show in the state was held at Tempe Town Lake this year. Anyone went to Rawhide, speak up? I feel for the residents of Tempe, this lake is so cool and perfect for events like Flugtag and Bowl Parties that it does not leave much time for them to enjoy it.

Whatever my mood, usually cheap pizza and beer, I can satisfy it on Mill Avenue. Cheap pizza and beer? Check. Artsy movies and Guinness? Check. Pastries and coffee? Check. Yeah, there is a lot more to do there, but my needs are simple. Oh, and next Speak Like a Pirate Day the Serenity Now/Equality Now event comes to the Valley Art.
