Arizona’s Gifts to the World – César Chávez

This week, Metroblogging sites around the globe are offering up gifts their city has given the world. There is a lot Arizona and the valley has gifted the world. Presented here are our choices:
César Chávez

César Estrada Chávez was born in Yuma , Arizona (near the California and Mexico border) in 1927. He was the co-founder of the National Farm Workers Association which later joined with Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee to create the United Farm Workers [1] union. Chavez was a leading voice for migrant farm workers. He was a complicated man in complicated times. yet, the efforts of his work led to changes in the working conditions of agricultural workers.
