I agree that bar owners make no money directly from cigarettes: their primary interest is definitely the alcohol-addicted. However, alcohol and cigarettes are quite frequently partner addictions and the bar owners don't want their patrons drinking at home because they can't smoke in the bar. The alcohol beverage industry sees a diminishing of their businesses tied to the anti-smoking movement or they wouldn't fund these kinds of campaign ads. Not all smokers drink, but a lot of drinkers smoke.

"...and you better believe the bar owners and the cigarette companies want to make sure smokers stay addicted and new smokers join the club."

THE BAR OWNERS?!! What possible motivation do BAR OWNERS have to keep people addicted to cigarettes? The relatively trivial amount of money that they are making if they sell cigarettes? No. Bar owners want people to stay addicted to ALCOHOL.
