After the rain

Remnants abound after last night’s rain. Palm pieces and tree leaves all over the sidewalks, puddles, lowered temperatures, humidity – it almost feels human-friendly again. As I walked toward my building this morning, I couldn’t resist a photo of this “mirror” lake (apologies to OSU) created in a small detention swale between the music building and ed lecture hall. These impromptu lakes are everywhere after a good rain – hope to see more of them in the coming weeks.

It was like a fireworks show last night. Not because of the lightning, but because all the neighbors were on the front porch going oohh and aahhh. It was a very fun party for about ten minutes, when we realized that it was still hot and muggy…
Exactly like a fireworks display! Takes living in the desert to appreciate the lightning from a good thunderstorm. I stood outside and watched the sky – some moments looked like a war zone with shells exploding everywhere and other moments were more like a rock concert with all the camera flashes popping. It was a night of seemingly never-ending light.
