All dogs are welcome in the store
I love seeing signs like that. (That particular one was on the entrance to Paul’s Ace Hardware, in case you and your dog need to visit the hardware store.) I liked that store to begin with (staffed by exceedingly friendly, helpful people — one of them solved the mystery of my leaking sink for me) but now I really like it. I wish there were more places that welcomed well-behaved dogs. So does our dog :)

Awesome, if the government wants it’s citizens to be healthier it would encourage this sort of permission. I would definitely walk to more stores if I could bring my dog in. That way I (and my dog) could get some exercise together.
Of course, Jackie, your key phrase was “well behaved dogs”. Almost everyone I know thinks their dog is well behaved. Just like with humans, manners cannot be mandated!
When I lived in Germany for a little while, I asked a restaurant owner once what happens if someone brings their dog in and they are NOT well behaved. (Well behaved in a restaurant being defined as laying quietly under the table throughout the meal.) They told me that it’s their choice to allow dogs in on an individual basis, and if one comes in that misbehaves the owner is asked to leave and not return unless they leave their dog at home. Seemed to work fine there, from what I could tell.
