Never thought there’d be a robbery…
…less than a mile from my house. Two people tried to rob a Payday Loans store less than a mile from my house today, one was shot dead. First of all I’m a bit peeved that a Payday Loans opened up in my neighborhood and I didn’t even know about it. These places generally cater to less than desirable folks. Secondly, it happened in one of the nicest parts in Mesa. Go figure. Things like this generally don’t freak me out, especially since the person doing the shooting was either a store employee or customer, not the perpetrators. Good for someone exercising their right to keep & bear arms. Another thing I’ve learned from this incident, is that AZ Central’s news reporting is CRAP! Their writeup on the event is vague and confusing. I generally try to shun all mainstream news outlets, but AZ Central was the only place I could (try) to find out what happened. Well, back to reading this week’s copy of The Onion.
On an aside, isn’t it funny how these payday loan companies that advertise on TV show all these respectable folks using their service? The Check Into Cash commercial makes me laugh everytime. Like a 60 year old retired lady is really going to get a payday loan. Ha.
Thanks for censoring my comment about not all customers of payday loan services being degenerates of society. Nice to see that this place is open for honest feedback and discussion.

I don’t think all bloggers on this site are “less than desirable” or “ignorant assholes.” I do think that DEMOODEREW made some pretty ignorant, biased comments on this post however.

Have you ever been in my payday loan store? My store where this incident happened, is a wonderful store. All of my customers are decent upstanding members of this community. We do more than just cash checks. We provide bill pay services, Western Union, Payday Loans, Title Loans, Money Orders and fast and friendly service. And we do that in a bank like environment. Unless you are carrying a gun and threatening to kill my employee and me it’s a great place to get your financial transactions completed. It’s a crying shame what happened. Even more so, it’s a crying shame that people who dont know what they are talking about just spout off to hear themselves talk…you might as well call yourself the media.
