I have a friend who works at Zest in Phoenix and had been asking me when I was finally stop by the restauraunt. My social calendar had an opening, so I decided to stop by and check it out. Located on 16th Street, just north of Indian School, Zest specializes in “contemporary American cuisine.” The atmosphere is relaxed, homey and warm. While known for their starters, I decided to concentrate on the main meal, which turned out to be a good choice because I wouldn’t have been able to handle both. The house salad, which comes with your choice of gorgonzola cheese, dried cranberries, walnuts and oranges, along with a citrus vinegrette, was excellent. I had the atlantic salmon, which comes wrapped in bacon and comes with a side of mashed potatoes and vegetables. The food was wonderful, prices are moderate, the service is friendly and very quick. Overall, I had a great experience and plan on going back soon.
