“Hot Enough For Ya?”

We Phoenicians get a bad rap for our constant commentary on the weather, especially whenever we meet someone from out of the area. Last week, I picked up a guy from England at the airport. We walked out into the garage and he let out a sad, horrified groan. I turned to him, and, without irony, asked, “Hot enough for ya?”

In light of our recent weather, I feel entitled to a little tirade. I want to die whenever the humidity rises to the level it’s currently at. It isn’t raining enough, and when it does, the storms scare the crap out of me.

My friend from England visited last June and strange as it may seem, actually loves the hot weather as he reminds me every time I complain about the heat. Oh well, to each his own huh?
